Step 1: The caller phones us

Someone calls the Rusty Jacket business number, 249-504-4991. If the call is not answered, our automated phone system (IVR) answers.

Step 3: The caller consents

A text is sent only if the caller presses 1 or says yes. If they do nothing, hang up, or leave a voicemail, no text is sent. The text goes only to the number that called. We record each consent: the caller's number, the date and time, and their response (keypress or speech).

Step 4: The first text message

"Rusty Jacket: Thanks for calling, and sorry we missed you! You asked us to text you, so how can we help? Reply with a short note about what you need. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
